Communication Club and Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society

Purpose: Comm Club is a student organization with the singular purpose of uniting communication and mass communication students and their varied fields of interest toward three common goals - getting a job, having fun and public service. Comm Club encourages students to join professional organizations such as Public Relations Student Society of America, the National Communication Association, Society of Professional Journalists, or the American Advertising Federation. Comm Club is also the home for members of Lambda Pi Eta, the communication honor society. Together we can accomplish great things.

ECOS (Environmentally Concerned Organization of Students)

Purpose: The purpose of ECOS is to foster and promote recycling and environmentally sound practices at Jamestown College, and to promote awareness, understanding and action regarding issues and concerns dealing with the environment.

Purpose: Grace on Campus offers spiritual connection and friendship to students of all backgrounds through events, groups, and worship experiences. In particular, GOC seeks to provide a place where doubts are ok, where questions are welcomed, and where people can come as they are.

Jamestown College Criminal Justice Club
Meeting Day/Time: One Thursday each month @ 7 pm
Purpose: We are a community of criminal justice scholars dedicated to collegial interaction among faculty, students, and the agencies and personnel of the local criminal justice establishment. Our activities will include mutual support and mentorship, career and internship exploration and networking, and service to the community.

Jamestown College Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Purpose: To provide JC student/athletes with an opportunity for Christian Fellowship

Purpose: J- Jamestown L- Live A- Action R- Role P- Playing JLARP will provide students an outlet to be someone else. Students will create teams of 4, and each team would be a nation. The teams will then create their own costumes and fake weapons, and do battle against each other in a medieval setting and theme. The battles are completely safe and no one can be harmed. There are strict rules in place to prevent cheating, accidents, or harm to students. Gamemasters (GM's) will be in place to regulate the battles.

Purpose: This organization is open to all physical education and health & fitness students. The club promotes physical activity, physical education, and overall professional involvement. Members have the opportunity to interact with their peers and professionals through social activities, state and national conventions and other activities while promoting physical education on the JC campus and in the Jamestown community.

Purpose: Pi Lambda Theta is both an honor society and a professional association. As an honor society, our purpose is to recognize individuals of superior scholastic achievement and high potential for professional leadership. As a professional association, our purpose is to stimulate independently thinking educators who can ask critical questions to improve educational decision making. Jamestown College Procedure: There are four ways to belong to Pi Lambda Theta: Campus Chapters, Professional Chapters, Member-at-Large, and Direct Honors. Jamestown College uses the Direct Honors and Member-at-Large program options. The Dean's Office or the School of Education certifies student eligibility. Members who join Pi Lambda Theta under the Direct Honors program join as Members-at-Large. The program is administered entirely by the international office of Pi Lambda Theta. Each year the education department reviews all Teacher Candidates in our program. Those that meet the criteria for membership in this organization are listed and sent to the Pi Lambda Theta main office. The office then sends personal invitations to students to join the society. Those that choose to accept the invitation and become members receive all mailings and benefits of any member of Pi Lambda Theta. Graduates are given gold honor cords to wear with their graduation gown signifying this honor.
