First-Year Student

Deciding on a college is a big decision.  We want you to be confident that you have all the information you need. The application gives our counselors insight into who you are and what you care about.  Armed with that information, they are better able to help you make an informed decision.  When you submit an application, you are not committing to a college; you are further exploring that college.  It is through this process that we will determine if you qualify for one of our many generous academic scholarships as well as provide us with information that could lead to other institutional awards including athletic, fine arts, and other merit awards.  Congratulations on taking this important step!

Admission Requirements
At Jamestown College, every application is reviewed and considered individually.  General freshman admission standards are:
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale and an ACT composite score of 18 or SAT of 850
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and an ACT composite score of 17 or SAT of 810
  • We do not require the writing component of the ACT or SAT test.
  • We do not have unit requirements; however, we require students to have obtained a state graduation certificate or GED certificate.

If you do not meet these admission requirements, you may be considered for conditional admission.  If accepted as a conditional admit, you may be limited in the number of credits you are allowed to take your first semester.
